Adult Funeral Servers assist the priests of the parish at funerals. This ministry provides an opportunity for funeral servers to perform corporal works of mercy for the honor and glory of God.
Funeral servers are responsible for preparing the sanctuary for the funeral liturgy and serving the priests as required in the Order of the Funeral before, during, and after the funeral Mass. Funeral servers participate in teams of five members. There being three teams, each team is often in sequence every third funeral. A minimum of three hours is required for a typical participant serving each funeral.
