Bible Studies

SRB Bible Study
Although the Sunday Mass is permeated with Scripture, there is much more. We as Catholics need to study the Bible. When Jesus opened the scriptures to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, their hearts burned within them. When we encounter Jesus in scripture, our hearts will burn with love of him, and our lives will be changed. No one is ever quite the same after encountering Jesus. At St. Robert’s, there are four goals that infuse our Bible studies:
- To hear the voice of Our Lord through the words of Scripture.
- To grow in an encounter and knowledge of Christ.
- To reorient our lives toward His will in our lives.
- To receive Him more and more into our daily life.
Studying scripture becomes part of our daily encounter and conversion to Him.
Comments from past bible study participants...
"I really enjoyed being part of my group. Each week I was amazed at the beauty of scripture. I discovered so much in the bible readings that was very personal, it wasn't just history."
"I had never been in any kind of group bible study before and was wary of joining. But from the first night, I felt welcomed and confident that I would be learning a lot. The facilitator did a great job of making sure everyone had a chance to speak. Listening to the other people helped me understand the passages. I will be back next session!"
"Now that I have been in a bible study group for a couple of years I can say that I am getting so much more out of Mass. I remember the readings and what I learned and it really helps me stay attentive. Being in a bible study group has been one of the best things I have ever done at St. Robert's. Thanks to all those involved!"
