Favorite thing about SRB (or teaching)
What I love about SRB are the strategies and techniques taught by the teachers, staff, and administration that foster and ingrain the SRB Core Vaues for each student.  Creating a safe environment, meaningful and trusting relationships with students, and guiding students through positive and challenging social-emotional experiences is a profound responsibility and as an educator, I love to demonstrate and mentor in that journey for all students. 

Favorite bible verse
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”   (1 Corinthians 13: 4-7)

Favorite hobby/pastime
Hiking, weekend trips to Iowa Hawkeye football games, beach vacations, Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video summer-time binge watching, Okoboji summer trips, watching college volleyball and basketball (Go Bluejays!!), board games and Texas hold’em with friends, redecorating our home, and most importantly, spending time in memorable ways with my husband and son and extended family. 

What was your favorite subject in school, and why?
In high school, Advanced Placement English/Speech was my favorite because the connection I made with the teacher was incredibly impactful during my years as a teenager and fortunately, so much I learned continued into adulthood.  She was passionate about giving students the resources and tools needed to be a great writer and communicator in an environment that gave me confidence and goals to pursue excellence.  She always demonstrated the importance of how to be a great public speaker in large and small groups, which paved the way for me in college and further into my career as a coach and educator. 

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor
So many……but Cake Batter at Cold Stone Creamery is the top vote-getter.
